According to a study done by ING Direct USA, “half of Americans who have participated in a 401(k) plan have left one behind at a former employer.”

Just because you leave a job, it does not mean you should leave your money there too. Unless that retirement plan has great investment options and extremely low fees, rolling out of the old plan may be in your best interest. Making that determination may be confusing, overwhelming, or just something that they don’t want to deal with, but that is why we are here.
