Prior to joining SilverLake, Hans earned a degree in Economics and Business from the University of Vermont in 2003. Upon graduating, he spent several years piloting corporate jets and turboprops before returning to his true passion—helping people make thoughtful, informed financial decisions.
In 2014, Hans entered the investment world as a Series 65 Registered Investment Advisor, and has spent over a decade building cost-efficient, tax-aware portfolios aligned with each client’s goals.
Hans’ investment approach is shaped by the timeless principles of Benjamin Graham, Warren Buffett, Peter Lynch, Jack Bogle, and others: keep costs low, diversify broadly, manage risk, and generally avoid trying to outguess the financial markets.
A native of Vermont’s Champlain Islands, Hans now lives in Shelburne with his wife and two children. He embraces all four seasons in Vermont, staying active with boating, hiking, skiing, music, soccer, and men’s league softball.
